The Bowmanville Eagles Hockey Club are proud to host the Ontario
Provincial Junior Hockey League's annual Governors Showcase Weekend.
This
year's showcase will take place from Friday September 19th to
Sunday September 21st at the Garnet B. Rickard Complex in Bowmanville.
All 37 OPJHL teams will see action over the course of the weekend,
with all games counting in the regular season standings.
The
host Eagles will also be providing a hospitality room for all
NHL, OHL, NCAA and CIS scouts and recruiters where food and refreshments
will be served along with up-to-date lineup changes and additions
for all teams.
The
Georgetown Raiders hosted the Streetsville Derbys on Monday night
at Alcott Arena and posted a 7-6 win.

Trevor Branning had a pair of goals to lead the Raiders to the
come from behind victory. Georgetown got into penatly trouble
in the first period and the Derbys capitalized and had a 4-1 lead
after one.
Vince Cusick went the distance in goal for Georgetown.
Michael Sgarbossa had a goal for Georgetown and Matt Cassidy also
connected for the Raiders.
Georgetown
is back in action on Thursday night at 730pm at Alcott B against
Orangeville.

The Raiders traveled to Westwood arena and left with a 4-2 loss.
Georgetown was not in this one as Streetsville was leading 4-0
until late in the third when Gtown woke up and realised they were
palyiong a hockey game and scored two goals.
Look for a better effort at home Monday night as the Raiders play
the Derby's 7:30 pm.

add Geoff Schmogyi to coaching staff

Geoff played 4 years at UMASS LOWELL from 1999-2003 and then played
some minor pro hockey for the Tulsa Oilers of the CHL and Cambridge
Hornets of the Sr.A League. He coached for the last few years
for the Mississauga Senators of the GTHL.
Geoff
brings a wealth of hockey knowledge and a great background in
hockey training that will only help the players reach their goal
of becoming a better player.
We would like to welcome Geoff to The Georgetown Raiders' family.
